Our Story

The basic interior of the shop has not changed from when it was built at the turn of the century, with the original tin ceiling and antique jewelry display case still in place.  The  most enduring asset that sets L & M above the rest is the wonderful way in which the clothing and accessories are merchandised with many displays highlighted throughout the store.  From floor to ceiling, the interior is filled with complete outfits arranged to create a specific look.  Another benefit that makes shopping at L & M a rewarding experience is the exquisite line of quality jewelry pieces, handbags and scarves, specifically selected to coordinate with the in-stock clothing of the season.  Color is so important, you will discover throughout the store, different departments of clothing grouped together by color for easier selection and coordinating of styles.  L & M is known for outstanding merchandise.  The use of quality fabrics with special attention to detail make the the items truly a work of art, especially found in jackets and coats.

From classic basics to novelty styles and fun accessories, the owner attends two fashion markets a year to select merchandise with certain customers in mind.  We know you will be pleasantly surprised when you see the fine selection of quality and unique merchandise tucked within the walls of this quaint, little shop.  The atmosphere of the store is casual with a high priority placed on customer service.  We provide in-house alteration services for a slight fee which our petite customers appreciate.
